•Experienced knowledge of retail supply chains including; strategy, planning, operations, stock management and analytics.

Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience of identifying and delivering performance improvements to drive change

Good IT and numerical skills with particular emphasis on MS Office packages.
Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
High level of understanding of Third Party Logistics industry and able to demonstrate an extensive network

High level of understanding of the UK distribution landscape including standard industry procedures and best practice. A link to inventory and working capital challenges would be beneficial.
Team Player with ability to deal with people at all levels in a professional and respectful manner

Brief Role Description:
Develop and maintain a supply chain network plan to support the growth of Company in the United Kingdom.

The role requires both an operational and strategic thinker who can adapt to ensure that network capacity plans are delivered at a local level but in conjunction with structuring a strategic 3-year plan.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate assessments and recommendations for change and investment proposals in relation to the existing and future design of the supply chain infrastructure and fulfilment modelling.

Most specifically in relation to the location, size, layout and automation of our UK Distribution Centres. This activity must be conducted to support thebusiness philosophy, volume forecasts for both stores and online platforms and provide flexibility for future growth and change.
There will also be the necessity to identify tactical opportunities to reduce capacity constraints to support on-going stock flow, particularly during peak periods of trading.

Leadership and coaching to create a high performing team is vital and this role must lead by example.
Stakeholder engagement is a pivotal part of the role, most notably with Merchandise, Finance, Distribution, Retail Operations
and third party providers. Success is based on achieving buy-in and influencing future ways of working and performance.

Design and implement planning and process tools to improve flexibility of the DC network, both now and in the future. Deliverables will be significant improvements in customer service whilst reducing invested and working capital plus cost to serve.

Working cross functionally to ensure and challenge stock flow and availability targets are delivered with the most suitable customer friendly solutions in line with long term business strategy.
Engage with and operate effectively with cross functional teams to deliver results and long term relationship building.

Make recommendations to improve and develop ways of working, with direct focus on process and systems deployed in Distribution Centres.

Responsible for planning the inbound, outbound and reverse flow volume performance with current Distribution Centres by setting clear KPI’s and holding regular performance reviews, ensuring we continually raise the bar on the performance and grow collaborative relationships.
Ensure a continuous improvement approach to analytical modelling and reporting to deliver improved decision making at a financial, operational and strategic level.

Review performance & achieved KPI’s. Propose & agree actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities for improvements.
Actively challenge the business on stock which is impacting the efficiency of the Distribution Centres.

Develop capability and performance of direct reports ensuring the  values are consistently demonstrated and performance management process embedded.
